“I’ll Lead” Sephora Crème Lipstick Review

li3

Ahhhh, my first lipstick, and it was only 3 dollars! I usually don't buy wear lipstick because it just---focues all of my attention to my lips, and I'm not to fond of my lip shape. But ya gotta work what ya got!
Sephora was having a sale and I suppose they were trying to get rid of their creme lipsticks, because they were just selling them for a measly three dollars. Such a High quality product for so cheap. The color is named “I’'ll lead”, in the tube it looks like like an orange-pink mix, I want to say it’s a coral with red tones but I‘m horrible with describing colors. At this point, I'm almost certain that this shade isn't being produced anymore because it's not on the website. Lucky me! :)

(Swatched 2 or 3 thick coats)

If lightly applied, it has a softer look. . I achieved it my lightly dabbing it and then blending, I refuse to let the entire stick glide all at once. The creme aspect really makes this lipstick opaque. My top lip and bottom lip are different colors, but you can barely notice it. I was worried at first that I might need to apply a concealer to get the results I wanted, but no~smooth sailing. :)

"I'll lead" has a subtle shine and I'd reccomend this product for ladies with warm undertones, like myself. I am quite fond of this color because it's rich and bold, yet does not attract to much attention.

Exfoliating is a must because this lip color tends to accentuate dry lips and cracks---which is not sexy~

My FOTD, complete with the creme lipstick.

What I like about this concealer: It has two shade so you can customize the color to your skin tone. Blending is a breeze, I didn't even have to use a brush. My fingers served as the perfect tool. Sheer Cover's concealer is light weight and not sticky.

Before Blending

After Blending

Usage Tips: As I said before, I did not need a blending brush of any sort. I just use my fingers. I didn't create a perfect combo or formula. I just just randomly dabbed on the two colors and gently worked it into my skin. Also, feather the edges so that it will look seamless with your skin.

My Verdict: Okay. Honestly, I did not think I would like the concealer as much as I do, because finding a good concealer for a black girl is kinda tricky. When I first applied the product, it just did not seem like it would match my skin tone at all. Like, AT ALL! One color was to beige and light, and the other was two orange. But when I blended them together, I was pleasently surprised. This Sheer Cover concealer is light weight and almost has a liquid consistency. It is good to look in the mirror and see that my face doesn't look like it has been caked with make-up. It provides a natural finish to my plenty acne scars. Especially on my cheeks. image

I shall end this review with a full face photo of moi. I swear the only thing I photoshopped was my eyebrow! LOL, it was bushy. Anyway. I have the concealer on my cheeks only. And yah. This has been a Glitter-Skull production. Go check out influenster. Go out and get this Sheer Cover Concealer, and Have a nice day.

Kat Von D's Saint Palette - True Romance

Kat Von D's True Romance Palette is the cheapy alternative to The Nake Palette. You most of those beloved neutral colors -- for less! <3

I picked up this beauty from Sephora for 38 dollars including tax. I'm not a huge eye shadow chick. Really, it was just an impulse buy, it's been untouched for about a good month and a half. Like, literally, I had just pulled it out the Sephora bag to take these pictures. I swatched a couple colors and decided that I had to have it. :)

The colors are so gorg. tho! It dosen't include crazy yellows and blues so obvs. it's intended for everyday looks.

Within this palette you have the colors

  • Heavens - A Shimmery White
  • Enjoy the Silence - A shimmery Beige
  • <3 - A Matte Light Pink with some sparkle
  • Downtown - A shimmery Copper
  • Sunny - Another Shimmery Copper
  • Pray For Me - An ashy, shimmery Brown
  • Book Worm - A Matte Brown
  • Caravaggio - A darker Matte Brown

The Mattes in this palette are bold as hell! With the exception of Pray for me, all of the colors are opaque and pigmented. Application and have a velvety feel; not all dry and chalky compared to cheaper eye shadows. Therefore, they're a breeze to blend, and the colors stay true.

Pray for me is disappointing. As much as I layer it on the color, it still just looks bland.

The palette also came with a primer! I was excited until I rubbed it into my skin and realized it was a nude color, and made my brown skin look ashy. Black girls like myself can't possibly wear that! -_-; Like seriously, wtf. It was thick and dried before I even finished rubbing it all in. Get it together Kat Von D's make-up team.

Instead of a rinky dink sponge brush, eyeliner was include. It glides on almost like a gel. Though I wish it had been liquid instead of a pencil, it shows nicely. Liquid just gives you way more precision.

Overall:
The colors are pretty, bold, and vibrant.
But 'Pray for me Sucks'.
Blends well.
Feels like suede.
Comes with eyeliner
Decked out with a huge mirror.

Here's my poo poo EOTD.
Don't laugh.

<3 and Bookworm were used.

A Million Kisses - Lush Lip Tint

Show casing red lips is the easiest way for an effortless made-up look. And the inner pin-up girl in me was urging for a red pout

So me and my girls walzted into LUSH. (Omfg, I love Lush, and the ladies who work there are always so angelic.) And of course we got to sniffing the soaps like weirdos. I asked one of the ladies if she had any lip colors and surprisingly they did. I told her that I wanted my lips to look bitten. You know how after you make out for a long time, your lips are kinda swollen and that bright red color? Yeah. Like that.

Goshness, it so very pigmented!
Tips: exfoliate and moisturize lips before applying tint.

Me? I just used my toothbrush and warm water to exfoliate.

What you see on your left is the Victoria's Secret Lip Gloss 'Juiced Berry'. Despite how red it looks in the tube, it is completely translucent. Tastes yummy though. ^_^; I prefer to wear it as a top coat to lip colors.

On the Right is the One Million Kisses lip tint by lush. It kinda-sorta makes my two toned lips look less obvious. I say this product is 10 Dollars well spent.

Lush is all about being being as natural as possible. I mean, look at those ingredients! Rose oil, Lemon Peel, Japan wax?! Gotta love it. <3

Quick Review:

Color: 5/5
It is safe to say that Lush's lip tint is worth the money. You can keep it natural with a singly swipe, or go for a bolder look and build up the color. This shade of red compliments my skin tone and I love it. It also has undertones of blue to make your smile brighter.

Endurance: 4/5
After 6 hours, it was still in good condition. Not exactly as I'd applied it, but still visible. Even after you wipe it off, it temporarily stains your lips. The gloss helps too.

Texture?: 5/5
Smooth, thick, matte, not sticky...Yeah.

Overall: 4/5

Since the red lipstick I wanted to purchase was 30 dollars, Lush's Lip tint is a great substitute. The color is vibrant, the ingredients are au naturale, and it makes my lips look lucious. Yum.

Smashbox High Definition Liquid Concealer (Medium/Dark) Review

First of all, I want to give a great big shout out to my senior year in high school, ACTs, SATs, College Applications, College Essays, Scholarship Applications and my job as a Cashier Slave for stressing me out and wrecking havoc on my skin!

...and with skin problems, comes a killer concealer review.
(hehe, killer concealer...)
at least one good thing can come from it!

Stock Pictures:

Shade Description: For medium skin with olive/yellow undertones

Alrighty, so, I got this wayyyy back last January from Sephora for $18. I only use this one for special occasions, such as a date or a photo shoot or something like that. Since it so expensive for such a small tube, I want to keep it as long as I possibly can.

(This is about how much I use)

My Cheeks: My problem areas: The only place I apply concealer.

This concealer is not to good to put onto healing pimples. It leaves that nasty make-up ring which makes it evident that you're wearing concealer.

This concealer hides blemishes (not pimples) very well. It evens out my skin. Yay!

The Review:
Color: 4/5
As an African-American girl, finding the right shade can be tricky. But thanks to those beautiful angels at Sephora, I got this almost perfect shade. It's a little on the light side, but with lots of blending it looks believable.

Blend-ability: 4/5
You can blend with your fingers, a sponge, or a blending brush. Either way, you skin will mend with the make-up for a natural effect.

Coverage: 5/5
The concealer its self is very thick and creamy. Just look at the before and after pictures, my blemishes are covered for the most part and the redness is reduced.

Endurance: 3/5
I live in hot, sweaty, humid Texas. Therefor, my concealer always seems to disappear by the end of the day, and needs to be re-applied.

Overall: 4/5
I'm quite fond of this little tube! This is my go to product when I don't have time to take my acne scars. The color isn't to ashy looking, it blends well, it covers amazingly and I never have to use much! I like to say that it gives me angel skin.   I'd recommend this product to all my friends and will definitely repurchase it in the future.

BH Cosmetics 88 Cool Matte Palette Review

I got this palette for only $9.50 BH Cosmetics was having a one day sale where they were selling 100 of these babies for 50% off. Of course, I couldn't pass up such an amazing deal! I bought this thing so fast I was the 2nd person to purchase it. This is my very first ever make-up review so bare with me!

Here are some pictures~!

Here's what it looks like on the top/front of the case. It's shiny and black, unlike the old matte one.

And here's what it looks like opened. It comes complete with a mirror, and 2 sponge applicators (which have now already broken and are in the trash ).

The pinks and purples are my favorites! They show up so vividly and compliment my brown skin tone~

The colors are a little bit smaller than a dime. A bit disappointing, but you get 88 different colors to make up for it. ALSO! This isn't a complete matte palette, there are a few shimmers sprinkled in the mix as well.

 (natural light)
Here's some random mini swatches. I have primer on my hand, jsyk.

(flash)

On to the Review:

Vibrancy: 4/5
The colors show up pretty damn well for a palette this cheap. Primer just makes it that much better. So far, I can say that all of the color look exactly as they do in the case. Now, they aren't as amazing as something you'd find in Sephora, BUT, for the price, it definitely gets the job done.

Blend-ability: 3.5/5
Some colors blend better than others. They're not creamy, yet I can't say that they're quite chalky either. MY only problem with blending is that I have to layer the color on a couple times so that I don't loose it in the process.

Endurance: 5/5
No problems in this sector, unless I fall asleep or forget that I'm wearing it and rub my eyes. I come home looking fresh.

Overall: 4/5
This is by far, no means the best-must-have eye shadow set on the market. But for the price it is pretty damn decent. I'm loving the vast variety and I have fun creating new looks everyday.

Now excuse me while I make my self pretty.
Except some amateur EOTDs in the near future.
